Hoffers are one of those rarities – a friendly family-owned bakers that actually still mix their own dough and bake it on site! Interestingly, they were concerned that the new Sainsbury’s next door to them would kill them off, but in fact people appear to be shopping in Sainsburys then going next door to buy their bread from Hoffers. Sainsburys even re-painted their shop front for them.
