What’s coming up at The Art House in the next couple of weeks


SUNDAY 9 October, 2 – 4 pm
Music in the City Special!
Our regular ‘Three Monkeys’ event graces us for an afternoon, with some great local songwriters.  FREE EVENT.

TUESDAY 11 October, 7.30 – 9.30pm
“Write On” Writers Group For people who enjoy writing to share ideas and inspiration, there are some topics and exercises, as well as lots of time to chat and write. Suggested £3.

TUESDAY 11 October, 7.30 – 9.30pm
For anyone who likes to make things and be creative.  A chance to do a ‘taster’ session in a different craft each session, plus a craft materials and equipment swap, time to work on your own projects and have a chat!  Usually £5 per session (£4 if you book on the night for the next one) which includes materials and a cuppa, for all Art House volunteers this is just £3

WEDNESDAY 12 October, 12.30 – 1.30pm
For all levels, come and enjoy speaking French over lunch or a cuppa! Suggested £2. 


WEDNESDAY 12 October, 6 – 8pm
Bring your sewing or knitting to do together.  They’re a friendly bunch and don’t bitch much! Suggested £2.

WEDNESDAY 12 October, 6.30 – 7.30pm

Also known as ‘Tony’s Comedy Hour’ – all levels welcome! Suggested £2.  


WEDNESDAY 12 October, 7.30 – 9.30pm
For constructive feedback on poetry in progress, bring 8 copies of your poem, a pen and an open mind. Contact stanza@thearthousesouthampton.co.uk  Suggested £3.

THURSDAY 13 October, 7.30 – 10pm
Part of Art Asia’s 30th birthday celebrations, an evening of Asian food and music.   Suggested £3

FRIDAY 14 October,  6.30 – 10pm
Local Food Supper & Film Screening

Enjoy a local meal and then a screening of ‘Just Do It’.  By donation to The Art House & Transition Southampton.


SATURDAY 15 October, 3 – 5pm  
Run by Cath Watkins of local band ‘Jigfoot’, this group is suitable for all levels. Suggested £4. Booking advised.

SUNDAY 16 October, 12.30 – 5pm
An untutored session for those who want to draw in peace! £13.50 per person. Booking essential.

The Art House is a not-for-profit café, gallery and arts venue in the centre of Southampton. We are a place you can meet new people, meet up with friends or just come in by yourself. Our licensed café offers delicious organic lunches, Fairtrade tea and homemade cake.
