Feeding the ducks and swans

We had an hour to spare today to pop along to the Hawthorns wildlife centre for a coffee and to buy a bag of seed to feed the ducks, swans and moor hens (and pigeons of course) on the common. It's a nice way to have a quick break, and the wildlife are very enthusiastic this time of year. Sadly, there were people feeding them cheap white bread which is no more healthy for the wild fowl than it is for us! The Hawthorns will swap your left over loaf for a bag of seed!
