Covid 19 is still with us and still a danger to older, disabled and vulnerable people.
We continue to follow the guidance from the WHO on operating food service, events and a safe workplace to ensure a high level of safety for our community pantry and performance events. Our staff are all independently trained in Covid safety procedures and asked to take regular lateral flow tests, which we provide, especially before working at events.
Any paid crew who test positive for Covid are paid sick leave to self isolate until they test negative and any volunteers are asked not to come in if they test positive or have symptoms.
We are a mask positive space and provide masks for those who need one. We will also ask anyone to leave if they make negative remarks about somebody who is wearing a mask.
Doors and windows are kept open at events if weather permits.
Our crew respect personal space and seek enthusiastic consent for any close contact.
We continue to keep our event seating flexible for most events, allowing audience members to stand or move chairs apart to facilitate distancing – as long as accessibility and fire safety works too!
Show times are limited to 3 hours at most events, with as many breaks as possible to allow us to open doors and allow fresh air through. We ask that participants arrive at doors open time and leave at closing time to reduce contact time and enable our staff to clean up safely.
Hand sanitiser is available at key points.
We inform online ticket buyers by email if any of our crew or other attendees test positive after an event, so that people can make the choice to test and/or self isolate.
We ask that you:
Not come to any event if you have any symptoms of Covid-19 or have tested positive. We will issue refunds for tickets if this happens.
Inform us if you test positive for Covid following one of our events, if you are comfortable doing so, so that we can inform our crew and other attendees that possible contact has occurred (your privacy will be 100% respected and we will anonymise all info shared).
The Art House is a mask-positive space, please refrain from making remarks or asking questions if somebody is wearing a mask – you will be asked to leave if you make a negative comment to somebody about them wearing a mask or taking any other precautions they see fit.
We encourage all of our visitors to take a lateral flow test before coming to an event (we do not ask for proof of this) as an additional way of keeping all of us safer. We understand that since the government stopped free LF tests, this may not be possible for everyone, but if you can, please do!
Please respect others choice to mask and socially distance, which may differ from current guidance/law and from your own preference and always seek clear, enthusiastic consent for any physical contact or closeness.
