We are taking submissions for our summer exhibition, which will run from 21 July – 13 September 2015 at The Art House.
Our bees are in crisis. They’ve lost much of their natural habitat in the past 60 years (including 97 per cent of wildflower meadows) and are under assault from pesticides and intensive farming.
Happily, this is a cause everyone can help with in their own communities and gardens.
This exhibition aims to raise awareness of the plight of bees and how we can help – there will be fringe events including talks, workshops and film screenings too.
Artists are invited to submit work inspired by bees.
Applications are welcomed from artists working in paint, collage, mixed media, pencil/charcoal, photography and handmade print. There is also space in one of our windows for an installation.
There is no size limit, but bear in mind we are not a huge gallery!
All pieces submitted must be either framed or on a canvas and ready to hang on a wall.
We usually accept between one to three pieces per artist.
Artwork does not have to be for sale.
Closing date for submissions is 28 June 2015 and you will be notified whether you’ve been accepted in early July.
The drop-off date will be Sunday 19 July 3 – 6pm and collection will be on Tuesday 15 September 5 – 8pm.

You will need to send in an image of your work if it’s already made, or if not then an image of recent or similar work!
