The Least Worst Candidates are a duo of humans, comprised of the poetRob Casey and musician James Consterdine. Through the intersecting media of poetry, comedy and music, they explore the existential perils of such everyday frustrations as eyebrow maintenance, the accurate naming of vacuum cleaners and the appropriate thing to write in greetings cards, to name but a few.
Join them on Friday 7 August from 7.30pm, entry by optional donation (suggested £5)
Each experienced performers in their respective fields, this will be their first live performance together as a band, so expect some surprises as they launch their 12-track debut album upon the world, starting with The Art House.
‘Treading Water in the Paddling Pool of Life’ will be available to purchase for a mere £5, with all profits going to CALM (the Campaign Against Living Miserably), a registered charity dedicated to preventing male suicide in the UK.
As well as support (TBC), the first half of the show will feature Southampton’s first ever Antislam!
‘The Least Worst’s Least Best Antislam Championship’ is an open sign-up-on-the-night event in which poets will be given three minutes each to perform the worst poem they can.
