Crosswind Sessions is a new concert series in Southampton, devoted to the many moving currents of folk music, curated by Helen Gentile.
With a particular love for instrumental folk, Crosswind Sessions sets out to spotlight some of the most exciting musicians working in the folk scene today. The series unfolds in the cosily lit Edmund Kell Chapel, with concerts taking place on: Friday 8 May, Friday 4 Sept, Friday 6 Nov 2026.
Each evening begins with an intimate seated concert, then opens out into a folk jam session led by the invited musicians. If you play, bring your instrument. If you listen, bring your ears and stay awhile. This is music made to be shared, not hurried.
