Kindness is a blessing – update from Gill (and Speedy)

Gill here.. Hi everyone.

Here’s a little update on the first community pantry of July. To keep running this regular Friday morning pantry, we need to cover the room hire and the cost of food collections. To do this, we need to raise £210 urgently for July – please help us reach this target by donating here via ‘Buy me a Coffee’ or dropping something into our PayPal account here. Thank you so much for your support!

Huge thank you to everyone who helps us out including all of you who donate and/or pay forward, we couldn’t do this without you!

Huge peppers

Friday’s Pantry we had giant peppers, scrummy chocolate biscuits, lots of savoury snacks including peanuts and pizza flavour crisps! Everything perishable went.

Lots of folk came in and today’s soup was especially popular, thank you to Nic, Ziggy and Jez for that! Also thank you to Bik, Jez and Missy Boo for being collection pixies.

Speedy (in the hat) is one of our regulars and wanted to be featured today! (We never identify our customers unless they ask btw). He loved his soup!

One of our regulars even had seconds (we are happy to oblige at sessions end when we know no one else wants some, we avoid waste).

Nicholas, (an amazing artist and valued supporter) visited today … always a privilege to watch him at work!

We had 4 new visitors this week! Always a pleasure to meet new folk.

Big thankyou to Board in the City CIC and a reminder folks of the great work they do! Please lend them your support as they work so hard to survive with the increasingly high costs! Maybe a rainy weekend would be a good time to go visit.

If you’d like to meet the Pantry volunteers we’d love you to pop in next week between 11am and 1pm! Pay as you Feel for groceries that would otherwise be binned!
