The Junction Box Free Little Art Gallery is a tiny, ever-changing space for sharing art.
Take a piece, leave a piece, or simply pause and enjoy what’s inside. Everything here is given freely – small works, big heart, no expectations. The gallery is a quiet invitation to notice, to make and to connect. The gallery is tended by local artist Jez Franck.
It is in an electrical junction box outside Bitterne Station, hence the name. Follow the F.L.A.G. on Insta here. Huge thanks to Friends of Bitterne Station for allowing us to create this tiny resource.

Want to add your artwork? We invite 2D artworks in any medium. Size guide: 10cm x 10cm / 4×4 inches or smaller.
Artist Trading Cards, tiny canvas paintings, altered business cards, tiny artist’s books, Zines, photos, printed work, collage. Prints and stickers of your original work also welcome. Please no frames or 3D work.
Send or drop your submissions to:
Bitterne Station Community Hub, Macnaghten Rd, Southampton SO18 1GG
Label the back of your work with your name and links to socials – or you can submit anonymously if you prefer.
Keep art ‘safe for work’ & family friendly as the gallery is in a very public setting in the local community.
Please note this art is for sharing, it will not be returned to you! Only send little art that you are happy to let go of. You can also drop by and trade your art for something in the gallery, any time. If you mail art, please keep it small enough for a letterbox and add enough postage for it to reach us. If you drop art in, either place it in the letterbox or in the gallery itself – please don’t leave it outside the station where it might get damaged before we find it.
If you don’t have art to trade, we invite you to make a donation to our community pantry in exchange for any work you take.
