We had some fun this weekend experimenting with making Green Smoothies in the cafe and giving away free samples to happy customers.
Green Smoothies are any smoothie which incorporates enough dark green vegetables to give it a delicious, healthy colour.
They are basically a cunning way of getting those dark green, leafy veggies into your piehole without feeling too worthy about it.
The trick is to whizz them up with some apple juice and fruit, to make a sweet smoothie with a little zing of ginger, which tastes amazing.
You just need some simple ingredients – although you can get fancy-smanzy and add superfoods like wheatgrass or spirulina.

At the moment, we are experimenting with recipes to come up with the best possible Green Smoothie to offer on our new menu.
Lots of tasting is happening. It’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it, right? Oh dear!
Here is a little video demonstrating how to make a very simple smoothie. They are best drunk right away as they tend to settle, so make them and drink them and share them around!
