EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT: Once more, with feeling – Samba with BAT2K Thu 1.2.24

Tickets are here

Bat2k were founded in 1994 for the study and performance of Afro-Brazilian rhythm, music, song and dance. They’ve played at The Art House many times and are returning for one more night – with feeling – before we leave our Above Bar St location.

Bat2k are involved in the practice and performance of Brazilian rhythms principally street beats from the Bahia region. Formed under the musical direction of the late Dave Renshaw, this group has continued to share his love of Brazilian music and culture.

Samba is the result of European and African musical structures, a style which spread through Brazil powered by the symbols of black Brazilian culture. Samba has become an intrinsic part of Brazil, travelling all through the world as a manifestation of street culture, grassroots rebellion and resistance.

The evening promises to be high energy and interactive – bring your dancing shoes!
