Moving Voices at Trans Pride Southampton 29.6.24

What a beautiful event – thanks to our special guests Nicola Beck debuting as ‘Great Aunt Tranni’, Percy Ford and Jez Franck, our host RKP and our open mic’ers.

Moving Voices, Southampton’s longest running open mic and our flagship event, will be popping up at Trans Pride Southampton on Saturday 29 June 2024 from 5 – 7pm at Edmund Kell Hall, Bellevue Rd, Southampton SO15 2AY

Sign up from 4pm by speaking to Nic, Jez or RKP who will be lurking in the lobby!

About our special guests:

Nic Beck (she/they) aka Great Aunt Tranni is a word-wrangling, neuro-diverse Eco-Queer. Performance poet who beguiles us into hearing her messages about inclusivity, humanity, and the fundamental importance of life, with a combination of humour, vulnerability, anger and sassiness.

Jez Franck (they/he) is a nonbinary multi media artist and poet. Their poems combine magick, nature, personal experience and activism to draw you into a world of myths, archetypes and norm-questioning, weaving his personal experience through ancient stories and contemporary global troubles.

Bryony Percy Ford (he/him) is a self-diagnosed Wizard: hewn from the bleak limestone cliffs and rusted iron of Portland, brought up on a diet of peregrines, ravens and slow-worms before being tempered in the long, loud, lonely darkness of Weymouth’s musical nightlife. He slept in the slow, suburban solitude of Bournemouth before finally finding a voice, a home, and a people amongst the diverse, unapologetic, powerful poets of Southampton
