Artist & Designer Needed – Urbane Forager

forageAlan Gibson aka the Urbane Forager is currently working on a book, based on the Urbane Forager project.

The Urbane Forager blog has run successfully for several years and is very popular internationally and currently gets about 150-200 hits per day, from UK, USA, France, Germany, China, Russia and Ukraine etc.

Alan has asked us to spread the word about this opportunity:

“I will likely be using photographs that I have taken to illustrate the book (to keep prices down), but I plan to have a few really nice feature pages to set everything else off. I have considered Linocuts but

I’m open to other ideas and obviously cost will be an important consideration.

I require 4 main Season pictures and a combination of these for the book jacket, possibly showing the wheel of the year in some way. It would be ideal if it were possible to integrate these ideas throughout the book design, maybe with page or chapter (month) headers or somesuch – I’ll need a graphic designer to typeset and put it all together.

I am very flexible to collaborative ideas, so someone with existing artwork, could feature their prints in the book as a way of advertising the artist. For example they could place an advert in the book as opposed to having payment for original images.”
