Gig Announcement – Andrew O’Neill returns to The Art House!

Andrew O’Neill – We Are Not In The Least Afraid Of Ruins; We Carry A New World In Our Hearts

Thursday 27 April, 8pm – tickets from £14.70 early release (low waged subsidised tickets £6)

Andrew O’Neill is hopeful, and also furious. The nonbinary metalhead comedian (and star of their own occult-themed Radio 4 sitcom Damned Andrew) returns with a coruscating comedy show about consumerism, toxic nostalgia and a massive dose of hope. The show received rave reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019, (and in 2022 – ★★★★★ – Scotsman)

The 2020 tour was interrupted when, frankly, things got even worse, so Andrew is bringing it back as we rebuild after the pandemic. The show is named after an anarchist slogan from the Spanish Civil War, coined by the anarchist Bueneventura Durruti. ‘It really gives me hope,’ says O’Neill. ‘Unfortunately he was shot dead and then the fascists won, but you can’t have everything.’

In line with their anarchist politics, Andrew performs on the PBH’s Free Fringe. ‘It’s by far the best way of doing the Fringe. It’s completely fucked that people can sell out a show at one of the big venues and end up owing THEM money.

Early release tickets go on sale 8pm Thursday 2 Feb 2023 (earlier access has been sent to members of our Patreon community)
