Moving Voices Open Mic August ’23 with special guest Carlton Clements – Friday 25.08.2023 7pm
Moving Voices, Southampton’s longest running open mic event for poetry, song, storytelling, and spoken word, is back with some longer slots for open mic performers. This month’s event will feature special guest Carlton Clements, a singer, songwriter, and poet. Carlton, who grew up in Gloucester, now leads the punk band Weird Unkles and also performs his own heartfelt songs. The event promises to inspire and uplift with a mix of regular performers and newcomers. Performers can sign up between 7 and 7:30pm. The event will be hosted by RKP. DAISY CHAPMAN + Cat Elliot live at The Art House // Saturday 9.9.2023, 7.30PM
Daisy Chapman and Cat Elliot will be performing at The Art House on 9th September 2023. Daisy Chapman, a singer-songwriter known for her powerful voice and piano skills, has released three albums and her latest masterpiece, “She Took Flight.” She has also toured with the band Crippled Black Phoenix and collaborated with violinist Sue Lord. Cat Elliot, a talented singer and musician, has a passion for storytelling and incorporates her diverse experiences into her music. She released her EP “Through & Through” in 2018. Southampton Pride Fringe 2023 // The Art House // 26.8.2023 1PM – 5PM
Southampton Pride 2023 will be held on Saturday, August 26th at Guildhall Square. As part of the event, The Art House will be hosting a fringe event showcasing local talent. The event will feature performances by Fragile Lucy, Cat Elliot, Piper Summers, Jayne Ede, Carrie Laythorpe, J Pyrite, Nick Haynes, and RKP. The performances will be hosted by Nicola Beck. The event will also include a gender-neutral clothes swap, a community pantry, and a quiet space for those who need a break from the busyness.
